For at least 4 years I had been suffering with severe Fibromyalgia, lower back pain and neck pain.
Fibromyalgia caused burning, throbbing pain and stiffness in my chest, lower back, upper back, shoulder and neck. On a scale on 1-10, 10 being worst, my pain ranked about an 8. The pain made it so I had trouble sleeping. Overall I was in pain and I was depressed. I cried also for both reasons. I just wanted to play with my daughter and enjoy her without constant pain slowing me down and depressing me. I tried massaging therapy, which only provided me with relief as long as the massage lasted. I also tried lots of aspirin, which only seemed to lead to acid reflux. So I switched to Tylenol and that did not help as much as I hoped it would. Exercise was the only thing that seemed to help a little. I was taking Tylenol, Aspirin and Benadryl to sleep. I found myself worrying about the side effects. It was at this time I saw my Rheumatologist and he wanted me to try the prescription medication Neurontin. That was it! I did not want to take that or any other prescribed medication.
It was then that I decided to give chiropractic a try. I had been to a chiropractor before to treat ear aches but not for this condition. I had doubts because nothing I had tried worked. I was worried about the adjustment causing me more pain. Dr. Childs, Dr Durr and their whole staff are very professional, knowledgeable and caring! The doctors took time to explain how chiropractic worked and it made sense to me. I started with a program of adjustments, specific corrective exercises, traction and some adjustments to my diet. I have had great results with this program! I now no longer have to take medications for pain or sleep. Chiropractic care helps to keep my body functioning optimally.
I am now an advocate of chiropractic and encourage others in pain to try it. It makes sense and it offers results! Thank you Corrective Chiropractic!
